ESD No, 3 is a levy of $0.10 (capped rate, but those that capped also have the power to uncap!) for each $100.00 valuation of ad valorem property. If your valuation is $400,000, that would be $400.00 added to your property tax bill by an unfair taxing system! Valuations still rise with frozen rate.
The Proposal to add 10 – 911 ambulances, 3 roaming supervisors, a Board appointed by County Commissioners, Paid drivers, stationary building & land. (Guessing @ $10m) We need to look at other options for paying for this service instead of ad valorem!
Currently our ambulance service is contracted (For profit) providing 4 ambulances . Which type of ambulance service has the County contracted? I, II or III. I being the basic. How about a better contract to improve services? Also, the TX Leg. can uncap the sales tax – every one pays, even those needing this service not living in the county. And those future communities.
Why should property taxes be raised for future growth? Those communities being built need impact fees worked in by the developers for these services, instead of property owners already struggling to pay taxes. This needs worked thru the TX Legislature also.
This ad valorem tax was filed June 7, 2024 and ordered to be on the Nov. 5th ballot Aug.19, 2024. We must as a Community provide for this service some other way than ad valorem tax!**Remember once a tax always a tax** and when disputing your tax assessment, you voted for it!
